MA-ELTA Students’ Achievements at the HASALD International Conference: Showcasing AI-Powered Learning & Game-based Pedagogy!
Led by our MA-ELTA teacher Dr. Amy Kong, our students Jiang Senkai Sam, Wu Xiaoyuan Olivia, and Zhang Ye Lorna participated in the International Conference on the Future of Education: Past Lessons, Present Insights, and Future Trends, organized by the Hong Kong Association for Self-Access Learning and Development (HASALD) on June 7, 2025.
The students volunteered as moderators for the parallel sessions and delivered inspiring presentations at the conference. Their generous assistance was recognized by Dr. Mable Chan, the President of HASALD, and their professional performance impressed the audience.
Lorna gave her sharing about a game-based pedagogy, while Sam and Olivia demonstrated an AI-Powered Platform for Personalized English Teaching & Learning that is designed by Sam. Their presentation sparked interest from the audience, including Professor Xiangen Hu, DoIHERD, DoERC & Chair Professor of Learning Sciences and Technologies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, who offered constructive advice for their continued improvement.
This conference experience not only provided our students with valuable insights into the future of education in the AI era but also connected them to professional networks, allowing them to showcase their potential and professionalism.
