At the invitation of the Department of English, Prof. Timothy Teo gave a talk titled “Robot-Assisted Language Learning: A Meta-Analysis” at Lecture Hall CR002 on 26 September 2024.

Timothy Teo is Professor and Associate Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He presented a meta-analysis of 27 robot-assisted language learning studies and argued for the effectiveness of robot-assisted approaches on both cognitive and affective aspects in learning a second language.

The talk was attended by around 70 HSUHK teachers and students, including many students from the MA-ELTA programme. Director of MA-ELTA, Dr. Gavin Bui, hosted the seminar and chaired the Q&A session.
